Youth in Action Programme – Sub-Action 3.1 - Youth Exchanges An Italian volunteer organization of Deliceto, a little town in the region of Puglia, and an Albanian volunteer organization in the town of Shkodra, intend to organize a bilateral exchange between young people, called “GEOGRAPHY OF TASTE BETWEEN GLOBALIZATION AND EUROPEAN ROOTS” . 12 albanian youths and 12 Italian youths, (24 young people between 13 and 25 years old), They meet with farmers, with food artisans, housewives, cooks, and ordinary people, for to learn to cook together and to tast typical dishes of the Daunia Mountains and of the province of Shkodra. They will Start from the food and they will trace the history and culture of two peoples and they will to compare cultures, traditions and folklore and so they are going to challenge the most common stereotypes and prejudices about the two cultures. The youth will live together in an experience of communion along 10 days. The project aims to promote awareness and intercultural understanding and aims to create the collaboration to create youth italian-albanian projects and entrepreneurial activities, aimed to the internationalization of Albanian cuisine and aimed to promote the turism to Deliceto and Shkodra. The cross objectives of the project are: a) encourage the participation of young people with fewer opportunities, b) to promote the youth volunteering and the youth action in the development activities of the poorer rural areas.
